Choosing the right video quality
When someone uploads a video, X stores several encodes of it — typically 320p or 480p for slow connections, 720p, and 1080p when the original was high resolution. They’re all listed after you paste a link, highest first, with an estimated file size.
Pick 1080p or 720p to keep a clip for editing or watching on a large screen. The lower resolutions are a good choice when you just want to share a clip in a chat app or save storage on your phone. All files are standard MP4 (H.264) and play on any device.

Frequently asked questions
Every resolution X stores for that video, usually from 320p up to 1080p. The best available quality is always listed first.
X only keeps a 1080p version when the uploaded video was at least that sharp. If the uploader posted 720p, 720p is the best quality that exists.
We show an estimated size next to each resolution, based on its bitrate and length. A one-minute 720p clip is usually around 15–20 MB.

Yes. Each video in the tweet is listed separately with its own quality options.
On iPhone it goes to Files › Downloads (you can then save it to Photos from the share menu). On Android it lands in your Downloads folder and shows up in the gallery.
